The Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles / Outer Hebrides of Scotland has some of the finest beaches in the Unitied Kingdom (the best being found in the wouth west of the island). While much of the island's interior consists of moorland it is along it's many miles of coastline that the most spectacular scenery can be seen. The Royal Hotel
The Royal Hotel: The Royal Hotel is Stornoway's oldest and most historic hotel as it first opened it's doors to the public in 1850. Having witnessed the town's heyday during the boom years of the herring fishing industry the hotel has managed to stay up to date while retaining much of it's character.
The hotel's highly popular HS1 Cafe Bar was the first of it's kind in the town and it's Boatshed Restaurant is also popular with locals and visitors alike. Being just a few seconds away from the very centre of Stornoway the Royal Hotel is one of the most popular in Lewis.
The Caladh Inn
The Caladh Inn: The Caladh Inn is the town of Stornoway's largest hotel, found on the outskirts of the town the Caladh is the most convenient for Stornoway Airport which is roughly four miles from the town centre. The Caladh Inn is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Stornoway so it is very accessible to the Calmac ferry terminal and the local bus station (where you will be able to find buses and coaches to most places on the Isle of Lewis (and Harris).
Well known for it's excellent hospitality the Caladh Inn is popular with all visitors.
